DiCon Fiberoptics Announces Milestone For MEMS Tunable Filter

tunable

Richmond, CA - DiCon Fiberoptics is excited to announce that its MEMS Tunable Optical Bandpass Filter has passed a major testing milestone, completing one billion toggling cycles over its full tuning range. In addition to this demonstration of longevity, the MEMS Tunable Optical Bandpass Filter features multiple bandwidth options, a small form factor, and fast tuning speed, ideal for any application that requires wavelength tuning.

After extensive testing including extended lifetime toggling, the MEMS Tunable Optical Bandpass Filter completed one billion cycles with no performance degradation. As an extension of DiCon's already proven MEMS technology platform, the MEMS Tunable Optical Bandpass Filter demonstrates the same durability as other products currently available, such as the MEMS Variable Optical Attenuator and the MEMS 1xN Optical Switch.

The MEMS Tunable Optical Bandpass Filter is able to tune within the C or L band and can be optimized for either a 50 or 100 GHz channel plan. Because the filter has both continuous scan and channel parking capability, it can be used in a wide range of today's optical filter applications as an optical channel monitor for DWDM systems, an optical spectral analyzer for test and measurement, or a tunable demultiplexer at a ROADM node. The compact size and reliability of the MEMS Optical Tunable Bandpass Filter also make it ideal for military and defense avionic systems.
