Custom Tool Design and Manufacturing Services

Pressmaster specializes in designing custom tools for wire and cable termination applications such as insulated and noninsulated terminals, coaxial connectors, fiber optic connectors, open-barrel type stamped and formed contacts, and IDC. Our application experts, based in Sweden, U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy and Japan are always ready to work with you to meet your requirements.

Our first step to design a custom tool is to thoroughly define your needs together with you. We need to have your crimp or termination specifications, and samples of every connector to be terminated together with samples of the wire or cable that it will be used with. We will either recommend one of our standard proprietary crimp tool frames that we can customize to meet your specifications, or else we will design a completely new tool if necessary. Our engineers will design, build, and test a prototype, and we will submit a working prototype for your evaluation together with a written test report. Upon your approval, we can proceed to manufacture your tool to meet your needs. Our pricing of custom tools is a function of the design and the manufacturing quantities. Our normal minimum production quantity is 50 pieces.

We can provide complete turnkey private labeling services consisting of:

• Laser marking on the metal surfaces of the tools with your name, logo, part number, and any text or sketches. We laser mark serial numbers and date codes for traceability.
• Plastic handles are available in a wide range of colors.
• Our environmentally friendly packaging can be preprinted to your specifications. Custom labels which include bar codes can be placed on the packages.
• Generic and custom instruction sheets can be made.
