Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.Digital Transport fiber optic system from <%=company%> (Atlanta) has been installed and activated in two networks at Comcast of Connecticut, enabling the delivery of digital interactive services and other traffic over long distances. Comcast installed Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.DT platform in its Middletown and New Haven systems as the centerpiece of upgraded networks in those cities, enabling delivery of expanded digital channels, Internet TV, and other interactive services to Scientific-Atlanta's Explorer set-top.
Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.DT product is a multi-service SONET/SDH multiplexer optimized for the regional fiber interconnection of broadband networks. The system offers direct interfaces for a variety of signal formats—baseband video, IF, BTSC, MPEG video, and Ethernet data.
Each Prisma DT system multiplexes 16 voice, video, or data channels into a single SONET OC-48 for optical transport. By employing Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.DT product's optional DWDM, an entire analog and digital headend could be multiplexed with cable modem and IP voice circuits and transported over a single fiber.
