Channel Electron Multipliers Designed For High Pressure Operation

Sturbridge, MA – BURLE Electro-Optics, Inc. announces the release of Channel Electron Multipliers that operate up to 20 milli-Torr pressure ranges with high gain and low noise to its extensive line of electron multipliers. These models are ideally suitable for field portable instruments and homeland security applications. The detectors enable lower cost and power consumption, smaller and lighter instrument designs and can yet provide laboratory grade performance.

MAGNUM and Spiraltron detectors demonstrated performance with pressures up to 20 milli-Torr, gain of one million, and low noise. These detectors also offer higher performance, extended linearity over a wider current range, higher count rates, and lower noise than other electron multipliers.

MAGNUM and Spiraltron Electron Multipliers utilize BURLE's exclusive Spiraltron technology that provides the highest dynamic range available and increased gain stability and near elimination of ion feedback noise. BURLE's proprietary glass formulation enables the longest detector life available in the industry.

The MAGNUM Electron Multiplier cartridge is a plug-in replacement that fits directly into the mounting assembly for most Mass Spectrometers. Its one-piece construction eliminates fastener and connection problems for tool-free, fast, and inexpensive installation. The mounting assembly is also available from BURLE when needed. The addition of these detectors adds to the largest selection electron multipliers available with over 125 models.
