Scope Communications 5.0 software for the WireScope 155 cable analyzer upgrade supports complete media testing for Gigabit Ethernet over twisted pair and fiber cabling. With the introduction of version 5.0 software, the WireScope 155 and Fiber SmartProbe becomes the only copper/fiber testing solution to provide complete certification of twisted pair, multimode and single-mode fiber for compliance with Gigabit Ethernet draft standards. Other features of version 5.0 software include support for the emerging TIA/EIA TSB-95 and 568-A draft addendum 5 for Level II-E field testers and Category 5E cabling.
The software performs all the testing requirements of the IEEE 802.3ab draft standard for Gigabit Ethernet over twisted pair (1000Base-T). The 1000Base-T standard was developed with the goal of supporting the installed base of Category 5 UTP.
