Brivo Systems, Inc. Launches Revolutionary Access Control System
With Brivo ACS, businesses can manage access to physical premises, including offices, retail stores, warehouses, and utility facilities. The ACS system offers a robust, cost-effective, and flexible solution for local and remote access control. Ideal for small businesses with a handful of doors at one location, the Brivo ACS also is perfect for the distributed enterprise with multiple, dispersed locations.
Unlike PC-based LAN systems, the Brivo ACS is the first-ever access control solution to combine the simplicity of a Web-based user interface with the flexibility of wireless, wide-area networking.
Components of the Brivo ACS include a website to monitor activity and manage access to facilities, a keypad for user verification, and a control panel to operate the locking function and communicate with the Brivo network. The system provides all of the features and benefits of a traditional PC-based LAN solution -- without the installation headaches and the expense of computer system maintenance.
According to Carter Griffin, Co-CEO and Chief Marketing Officer of Brivo Systems, ``The wireless WAN architecture and Web interface allow businesses to easily control access to facilities whether they're local or halfway across the country.''
The Brivo ACS is easy to install and operate, requiring no computer networking, no expensive cabling, and no telecom provisioning. This means rapid and inexpensive deployment to a single location or to dozens of remote facilities. The system provides users with a comprehensive, real-time event log, plus instant, user-specified event notifications via email.
Additionally, because it is a managed and hosted service that is delivered via the Web, there is never any software to install or upgrade and no local PC is required.
Says Steve Van Till, Chief Technology Officer, ``Connecting something as simple as a door to the Internet highlights the flexibility of our platform. The technology we are using - a multi-tier architecture, Enterprise Java Beans, Oracle databases, and Sun servers - gives us the ability to put a variety of access control and other devices into our application framework.''
The Brivo ACS service is available through two products: the ACS-2000, designed to manage a handful of doors at a single facility, and the ACS-2100, designed to manage doors at multiple facilities.
