Benton Telephone Company Deploys Alloptic's 'Micronode' FTTH Equipment
Tulsa, OK - Benton Telephone Company has chosen Minneapolis-based DF Countryman, value-added distributor of broadband and fiber-optic products, to supply Alloptic's "Micronode" line of fiber transceivers in its latest project in Rice, MN. The project will enhance broadband network service offerings in the Rice, MN area, reports DF Countryman president Rick Countryman.
Alloptic delivers standards-based passive optical network (PON) access equipment that operates at gigabit speeds. The company offers a complete suite of central office and customer premise equipment for use in both fiber-to-the-business and fiber-to-the-home applications. Alloptic describes its offering as a pure Gigabit Ethernet PON architecture; i.e., there are no active components in the field.
"By supplying Alloptic's solution for Fiber-to-the-Home, Benton was able to significantly reduce the cost of implementation and speed the rollout of services," recalls Countryman. Moreover, he adds, Alloptic's completely passive technology increases reliability.
