Axon Photonics

Axon Photonics designs and manufactures both active and passive components, modules and subsystems used in optical networking systems. Axon Photonics has two technology platforms: Planar Lightwave Circuits (PLCs) and InP based active components. Axon Photonics' first two products will be arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) and semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs).

By combining Axon's proprietary silica-on-silicon and InP semiconductor amplifier (SOA) technologies, various optical subsystems can be realized. These subsystems provide a higher level of integration allowing system engineers more freedom in the design architecture of telecom systems. Current subsystem configurations utilize a modular configuration. Hybrid configurations are in development, leading the way to a future fully monolithic "system-on-chip."
