ATM Transceivers

N/A OC-3, single-mode, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) transceivers can be used for either telecommunications or data communications applications, with data rates up to 155 megabits-per-second (Mbps).

The ATM transceiver includes a transmitter, a receiver, and an SC duplex receptacle. The module is suited for use in low-cost, local area and wide area network (LAN/WAN) applications. It can be used as a network-end device interface in workstations, servers and storage devices, and in inter-network devices such as bridges, routers, intelligent hubs and wide area ATM switches.

The single-mode transceivers comply with existing ATM standards including Bellcore SONET OC-3 and ITU-T G. 957 SDH STM-1 standards, as well as the Industrial Standard Multisource footprint. The transceivers are class 1 FDA and IEC products.

The ATM transceivers provide highly reliable logic-to-light, serial data transmission over single-mode fiber using 1300 nm MQW (Multi-Quantum Well) laser diode (FP) and 1300nm InGaAs PIN photodiodes. A standard version can operate over distances of at least 15km while a long-reach version reaches a minimum of 40km. Both types are configured in 1 x 9 pin rows.
