ADC Introduces New Rack-Mounted Splitter Chassis Product Family

Minneapolis, MN - ADC recently announced the availability of a new family of Rack-Mounted Splitter Chassis that allow customers to utilize ADC's high-performance, plug-and-play splitter modules in new ways in FTTX networks. These chassis, the latest additions to ADC's line of OmniReach fiber-to-the-x (FTTX) solutions, are designed for use in mid-rise and high-rise Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) equipment rooms suited for centralized Optical Network Terminal (ONT) applications. Furthermore, these chassis also can be used in test environments to allow customers to configure and test network architectures utilizing ADC's plug-and-play splitters in laboratory settings.

ADC's Rack-Mounted Splitter Chassis product line is designed to fit in both 19" and 23" fiber rack frames, accommodate up to 24 plug-and-play splitters and is offered with cable management bracket kits. The chassis splitters, in conjunction with MDU ONTs, directly feed individual MDU living units from a centralized location, allowing for better utilization of existing MDU wiring. In testing applications, ADC's Rack-Mounted Splitter Chassis offer customers the ability to configure, test and easily reconfigure in laboratory environments the network architectures to meet FTTX deployment needs.

"This new family of splitter chassis provide our customers with true plug-and-play capability, simplifying network installation and reducing overall time and cost of deployment," said Jack Field, vice president of product management for ADC's Global Connectivity Solutions. "Our customers continue to value ADC's FTTX solutions because we are able to deliver high-performance solutions that reduce network operating and maintenance costs, speed network installation and service turn-up, and improve ROI."
