ADC Expands OmniReach FTTX Portfolio To Speed Deployments

OSP EXPO 2008
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT) (www.adc.com) has expanded its OmniReach® FTTX product suite with more high-quality, cost-effective solutions for accelerating business and residential broadband network deployments. These additions – the NCX-XBA Cross Box Add-on, ComProtect® Building Entrance Terminal (BET), LSX 288-Panel and Multiport Service Terminal (MST) Demarcation Shield – improve FTTX deployment efficiencies to help carriers better meet and manage mounting bandwidth demands.

"As carriers face the realities of diminishing network space and consider broadband network upgrades to accommodate more bandwidth-heavy applications like IPTV, there is a greater need for flexible and future-proof solutions that can withstand these network demands," said Jack Field, vice president of product management of Global Connectivity Solutions for ADC. "In this race to deploy FTTX networks, ADC's OmniReach solutions meet and exceed service providers' requirements for speed, cost and reliability."

ADC announces the launch of four new products:

  • OmniReach NCX-XBA Cross Box Add-On: For carriers looking for another option to traditional xDSL deployments at the cross connect cabinet, ADC's OmniReach NCX-XBA Cross Box Add-On can increase network capacity with minimal service interruptions. Carriers save time and money from having to retrofit or re-skin a cross box since the solution simply attaches to the end of a cross connect cabinet.
  • OmniReach ComProtect BET: Fully compliant to UL® and Telcordia® specifications, ADC's OmniReach ComProtect BET allows network installers to preserve cable plant and equipment from voltage surges and spikes. Ideal for use on campuses, commercial buildings and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) with tight spaces, the lightweight and compact ComProtect BET offers high-density primary protection for both indoor and outdoor applications.
  • LSX 288-Panel: As a highly dense cable management solution, the LSX 288-Panel helps service providers deal with bandwidth demands without worrying about CAPEX costs. The flexible panel can be preterminated with intrafacility or outside plant cable or it can be configured to terminate and splice. It also can be used in a high-density lineup, a homerun splitter frame, or with active equipment in an outside plant cabinet.
  • MST Demarcation Shield: The snap-on demarcation shield allows installers to mount an MST at the ground working height level without exposing the fiber optic connections – ensuring easy access to an MST for adding or reconfiguring cables.

"In addition to these new FTTX solutions, ADC has the expertise and proven track record to help our carrier customers quickly deploy networks and maximize operational efficiency, continued Field. "We understand how to work successfully within the central office and the outside plant, and we share that knowledge through our products and services."

These products will be on display at OSP EXPO 2008, taking place at the Baltimore Convention Center, Oct. 22-23. ADC executives and product experts also will be at ADC's booth #713 for personalized tours of its OmniReach FTTX portfolio.
