Aamstrand brand products were being produced in Bedford Park, IL, until 1989, at that time the machinery and equipment were sold to Guatemala, because of antiquity, resulting in high upkeep costs. The facility was also sold at that time. This provided the capital to become more competitive in the international market place, through lower pricing, greater capacity, as well as higher quality and better service.
