Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics is offering its 6-Port 10/100Base-Tx and 2-Port 100Base-Fx fiber Ethernet switch. It has six 10/100M UTP ports and two 100M SFP sockets. It uses STAR network topology and is an ideal option for fiber to the home (FTTH) optical fiber solutions.

This 8-port fiber Ethernet switch, model C0330003, features store and forward switching mechanism. It converts 10/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet twisted-pair signals to 100BASE-FX Fast Ethernet fiber signals.

This converter has the ability to transmit up to 2 kilometers for multi-mode fiber and up to 120 kilometers for long-haul single mode fiber between a LAN switch, file server and another networking device. It provides IEEE 802.3x full-duplex flow control and back pressure half-duplex flow control. It also features 10/100M auto-negotiation in TP port and has a maximum speed of up to 20/200M in full-duplex mode. In addition, LED indicator lights fully monitor the convertor's operational status making observation and diagnoses easy.

This 6-Port 10/100Base-Tx and 2-Port 100Base-Fx fiber Ethernet switch belongs to GAO's family of Fiber Switches. This line includes a wide variety of products such as 4-Port 10/100Base-Tx and 1-Port 100Base-Fx Ethernet Switch, 2 – 10/100/1000M RJ45 & 2 – 1000M SFP Ports Ethernet Switch, 1000M Dual Port Media Converter which conducts mutual conversion between 1000Base-T twisted pair electrical signal and 1000Base-SX/LX optical signal, and some other products.
