2-Gigabit Controller

The A8526 high performance controller features dual 2Gb/sec Fiber Channel host interfaces with six Ultra 160 SCSI LVDS independent device channels. The 2-Gigabit RAID controller is the ideal solution for many high performance and high availability applications including e-commerce, video and audio streaming, medical and satellite imaging and telecommunications applications. The controller is especially desirable in SAN environments where advanced capabilities such as Active-Active failover, LUN Zoning and Array Partitioning are critical.

The controller has the features that are highly sought after in SAN environments. LUN Zoning and Array Partitioning provide a cost-effective solution for sharing disk arrays. For those mission critical applications, the device provides a high availability solution with its dual controller Active/Active Failover capability. Management flexibility offers in-band management over Fiber Channel, out-of-band over an RS232 serial interface or via a newly designed Ethernet interface. Even though the controller supports 2Gb Fiber Channel out of the box, it is designed to also operate in existing 1Gb Fiber Channel SAN environments. The 1U rack mount design allows for greater rack design flexibility and disk array options. Overall, the controller offers high performance and availability, ease of management with great flexibility providing a robust, cost effective solution for enterprise SAN environments.
