Since its founding in 1981 as "the fiber optic test equipment company," Fotec has concentrated on manufacturing nothing but fiber optic test equipment . From the beginning, we have designed and built instruments that are easy to use, reliable and inexpensive. Our continued success has resulted from our commitment to building the best, most cost-effective products for our customers.

As a manufacturer of fiber optic instruments, Fotec has been involved in the development of not only instruments, but also the basic technology of fiber optic measurements through our participation in industry standards groups, where we helped to write many of the standard test procedures for which our instruments are used. We have also worked very closely with our customers to develop products and services that met their needs and their budgets.

We developed our fiber optic "test kits" in 1982 as solutions to testing network problems. When our customers needed training, we wrote applications notes and developed extensive training materials and seminar programs to teach fiber optic technology and testing to them. When they needed immediate delivery, we kept our products in stock for off the shelf delivery and recruited distributors to help us meet customer delivery needs around the world.
