The New Focus polarization beam combiners/splitters have been optimized for next-generation optically amplified systems requiring multiple pump sources. Based on the same packaging platform as our robust 3-port optical circulator, these compact combiners allow you to efficiently combine two pump lasers of orthogonal polarization. Polarization multiplexing results in higher total output power as well as lower polarization-dependent gain from the amplifier (either EDFA or Raman amplifier). Furthermore, our packaging delivers high optical power handling by maintaining an optical path free of epoxy or other contaminants. For polarization splitting applications, our polarization beam combiners/splitters offer high extinction ratio along with low excess loss.
