GRADIUM glass lenses have been used in various industry segments. They have been well-received for use as high-performance, general-purpose optics. In particular, they have been very well received for use in high-power industrial lasers; many of the world's largest Nd:YAG laser manufacturers now incorporate these glass lenses in their laser systems.

GRADIUM is the company's proprietary axial gradient index glass. Its unique refractive qualities can be exploited to reduce lens aberrations. In industry, the lenses have been applied as simple singlets or doublets and in complex multi-element lens systems. The glass is supported by the major optical design programs.

The glass lenses perform similarly to single-term aspheres. A properly designed system using the lenses will improve performance and simplify the design when compared to a conventional system. The lenses provide a cost-effective solution for many high-performance applications.
