Pre-built components "out of the box" are available in the Artifex Networking Toolkit for drag & drop into designs while, at the same time, the open-architecture philosophy underlying the development of the toolkit allows components to be customized to support users' specific requirements.

The most diffused protocols like TCP, IP, ETHERNET are included, as well as traffic generators with the most common distribution, like Pareto and Poisson; switching and routing equipment are included too.

This first commercial release of the toolkit is jointly distributed with Artifex 4.3.

Within year 2001, the Artifex Networking Toolkit will grow fast to cover inclusion of additional protocols, such as: OSPF, HTTP, MPLS, MPIambdaS, UDP, RTP/RTCP, GbE/lOGbE, RSVP, VoIP, SONET/SDH, POS.
