Finger Lakes Technologies Group, Inc. Significantly Expands its Fiber Optic Network across Upstate New York. Completes network ring connecting Binghamton to Syracuse and expands Fiber based services into Monroe County

Victor, NY 14564 (PRWEB) - Finger Lakes Technologies Group, Inc. (FLTG) has completed a significant expansion of its fiber optic network. Two significant network projects have been completed – a build connecting FLTG’s existing Binghamton network to Syracuse and a network expansion into Monroe County. These two projects increase FLTG’s fiber network by over 300 miles, bringing total network size to over 2,500 miles. Continued growth in network scale and reliability is part of the company’s ongoing strategy of expanding its network capacity and service offerings throughout New York State.

“Businesses have a need for bandwidth that is growing exponentially,” said Paul H. Griswold, President and CEO of Finger Lakes Technologies Group, Inc. “The continued investment in our cutting edge fiber optic network creates unlimited capacity, even greater reliability and redundancy. It enables FLTG to expand into new cites to offer our full suite of products and services over a single network. While many of our competitors talk of one-stop shopping, our unique asset base allows us to truly deliver end to end solutions in the markets we serve. From voice and data networks, phone systems, and cloud computing to fully managed services, we create value for our customers by unleashing the power of the network to enable businesses to operate more efficiently.”

The completion of the fiber network build from Binghamton to Syracuse provides FLTG and its customers with a diverse and fully redundant path for internet connectivity in New York State. FLTG will begin offering fiber based services to businesses in the following markets include Norwich, Sherburne, Hamilton and Cazenovia.

The company has also announced a strategic expansion into Monroe County. The expansion into Monroe County will give Rochester businesses an alternative for high bandwidth services provided over a locally owned network. FLTG already provides equipment products and managed services to commercial accounts throughout Monroe County. The new network allows FLTG to offer its full portfolio of products and services and strengthens the company’s’ ability to service the ever growing demand for converging voice and data services onto a single platform.

“FLTG has a differentiated product set and a demonstrated track record in delivering enterprise class services in key vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government, and retail. With the recent changes in the competitive landscape in Rochester that has been created by industry consolidation, this is a great time for FLTG, an aggressive nimble provider committed to upstate NY, to bring new products and improved service levels to the marketplace”, says Phil Yawman, SVP Business Development.

Yawman noted that FLTG is recognized by Cisco as a Master Service Certified Partner (MSCP) for its Hosted Communications Services (HCS), a fully managed end to end solution for voice and data services. Additionally, FLTG recently began offering wavelength services via their fiber network. Wavelength Services is a fully managed, secured, private, point-to-point service delivered over a completely redundant Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) network. This solution provides businesses with the dedicated broadband transport network connectivity needed without capital outlay or the responsibility of owning and operating network infrastructure.

FLTG’s network now has more than 2,500 miles of fiber in New York State and Pennsylvania, connecting over 30 communities. The company expects to start bringing customers onto the new networks in early 2016.
