The Visual Fault Finder (VFF) employs a 635nm Class II laser diode to provide a simple optical fault finder or fiber router. When a break or microbend is detected within the tested fibre, a clear light shines through small cable jackets or the fiber buffering to provide the technician with visual confirmation of the exact fault location.

Applications:
The 263A VFF is designed to be used by technicians in the field for simple fiber routing and identification, or the detection of breaks and general trouble shooting during installation. It is equally useful to the network manager or maintenance engineer, providing confirmation of a cabling fault when a system goes down, prior to calling hardware support staff or specialized engineers. It can also be used as a simple 635nm Laser Light Source.
