The new VPIlinkConfigurator™ derives accurate cost and span engineering information for any optical link in the mesh network. Field engineers can verify that a given WDM system can be deployed between specified nodes, working with repeater hut locations, fiber types between the repeater huts, the number of wavelengths that need to be carried, and signal rates that need to be carried.
VPIlinkConfigurator™ covers green-field and brown-field fiber plants, and different fiber types across the plant including single fiber and full duplex 2-fiber links. Real world components and subsystems are included like 3R regenerators, EDFA and Raman Amplifiers. Sophisticated algorithms quickly predict the limitations on systems performance.
