This hybrid component integrates a thin film WDM with a high sensitivity PIN photodiode for optical add/drop multiplexing as well as telemetry applications. Depending on the choice of WDM type, the WDM/Detector can be used to selectively drop Broadband WDM signals, ITU WDM channels, or optical service channels, while passing through all other WDM signals. By combining two functions in one package, the WDM/Detector minimizes both integration costs and module size. Used as either a single component or in an array module, the WDM Detector provides an ultra flat, broadband spectral response with low insertion loss.
