SpectralWave 160 is NEC's next generation high-density DWDM system.
SpectralWave 160 is NEC's next generation high-density DWDM system. Its
open architecture uses a single Universal Transponder shelf to support
mixtures of 2.5, 10 and 40 Gbps channels. It fully utilizes ITU-defined 50
GHz channel spacing in both the C- and L-bands to support a maximum channel
capacity of 160 2.5-or 10-Gbps or 80 40-Gbps channels, thereby providing a
maximum transport bandwidth of 3.2 Tbps.
Features:
- OADM configuration
- Raman amplifier
- 4:1 multiplexing to increase channel capacity
- Maximum transport bandwidth of 3.2 Tb/s
- Up to 640 channels can be transported on a single optical fiber core
- Dense physical architecture for small deployment footprint
- Remotely provisionable optical ADM with 50 % add/drop capacity
