The Soneplex Wavelength Division Multiplexing Quad Loop Extender (WQLX) module converts four DS1 sig-nals into an optical DS2 using wavelength division mul-tiplexing (WDM) optics
The Soneplex Wavelength Division Multiplexing Quad Loop Extender (WQLX) module converts four DS1 sig-nals into an optical DS2 using wavelength division mul-tiplexing (WDM) optics. The optical DS2 is converted back to four DS1s at the customer premises. WDM optical technology allows transmit and receive signals to share the same single mode fiber. Using WDM technology, the WQLX allows service providers to conserve resources by using half the fiber plant to serve the same number of customers. Used in the Soneplex Loop Extender chassis, the WQLX is an integral part of ADC's system approach to T1 delivery.
ADC's Soneplex system is the lowest total cost solution to expand local loop business services. In addition to HDSL, HDSL2, traditional T1 repeater and optical DS2 technologies, Soneplex's advanced diagnostic and man-agement functions allow maximum control and visibility throughout local networks. Focused on flexible, end-to-end solutions, the Soneplex system approach provides robust, cost-efficient transmission and access over either fiber or copper, using a single platform.
