The 1480/1550 Pump Coupler WDM is constructed using the company's Cyllindrical Filter WDM packaging technology. The Pump Coupler uses a hard-coated thin-film interference filter mounted between a pair of GRIN lens collimators. It is housed in a compact, environmentally stable package that offers superior resistance to humidity and temperature and is suitable for mounting on a printed circuit board or within a module. The components are used to couple 1480-nm pump sources with 1550-nm transmission signals in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. They can also be used to multiplex or demultiplex 1480-nm monitoring sysignals onto 1550-nm WDM transmission signals.
