OptiMizer
In addition to the distance gains provided by its long-haul optics, the multiplexed optical stream will experience less attenuation loss over the same distance when compared to a non-multiplexed link. This factor can be valuable when operating the system over high loss or backbones with many splices. Upon entry into the module at the second location, the multiplexed fibre is de-multiplexed into separate optical data streams and converted back to the originating wavelength.
Several modules are available depending on the configuration of the customer's existing network. For those wishing to add a new data channel to an existing 1310nM Singlemode network, select the RFM1351 / 5351, which converts and multiplexes a single duplex channel. The RFM1352 / 5352 multiplexes two duplex channels. This is useful in situations where two pair of multimode devices need to be connected using one pair of singlemode fibers. The RFM4356/8356 are 4/8 way WDM system which operate at speeds up to and including OC48 (2.48 Gb/s), clock-recovery units are available.
The product is available as a FibreGuard module or stand-alone.
