Details

Model 7900B System Mainframe accommodates up to eight channels of distributed feedback (DFB) and Fabry-Perot (FP) laser sources, or fiber optic switches -- all controlled from a single mainframe for maximum testing flexibility. For higher density WDM system requirements, up to 24 additional 7900B mainframes can be linked together for a total of 200 channels -- all controlled from a single GPIB address.

The 7900B also permits maximum flexibility in user-specified wavelengths. For example, WDM DFB modules are offered at user-specified wavelengths from 1528 nm to 1610 nm and can be tuned over a 1.7 nm range with 0.01 nm resolution. In addition, FP source modules are available for the most commonly requested wavelengths from 1310 nm to 1640 nm.

Model 79800B DFB and FP fiber optic source modules are designed to accept a wide variety of laser package and fiber styles. These sources can be customized to meet special requirements, including high output power, custom-specified connectors, PM fiber or tight wavelength tolerances.
