The Miniature Variable Attenuator is a fiber-pigtailed component, which is used to set attenuation levels in the range of 0 to 50 dB. By turning a high precision adjustment screw, attenuation can be set within 0.1 dB. The device can be used to adjust optical power level in both factory test and field transmission systems. Applications include optimizing receiver sensitivity in field systems as well as measuring bit-error rate performance in lab demonstrations. The compact housing is designed for mounting on a printed circuit board or within an enclosure.
Features
Wide attenuation range.
Precise resolution
Low back-reflection
Low insertion loss
Low polarization dependent loss
