DiCon Fiberoptics, Inc. introduces a new Fused Fiber Tap that maintains ultra-low excess insertion loss while tapping power signals in the 1550 nm or 1310 nm windows. Fused Fiber Taps, available with tap ratios between 1% and 10%, can be purchased as individual components or as integral components in modules for use in fiber amplifiers, line interface modules, optical channel monitoring, fiber protection switching, and optical add/drop multiplexing. Fused Fiber Taps are tested to Telcordia GR-1221 and are reliable in both central office and outside plant conditions.
