Ethernet & Fast Ethernet Multiport Media Converters

Source: Transition Networks, Inc.
Transition Networks' Multiport Media Converters provide multiple RJ-45 to Fiber or Telco to Fiber conversions
Details

Transition Networks' Multiport Media Converters provide multiple RJ-45 to Fiber or Telco to Fiber conversions in one compact unit. These differ from Transition's Conversion Center or Media Converter Rack in that all ports are in a fixed configuration and each unit's conversion connector pair type is the same across all ports. The Telco to Fiber models provide high density 50-pin connectivity; a growing standard that provides ease of installation and maintains a clean clutter-free environment.

Using LANart Inside ASIC technology, Transition Networks advances the features while offering a low-cost solution for media conversion needs. The Link Alert technology, which is easily controlled by a front panel switch, automatically senses and reports up or down link faults to far end devices. AutoCross makes installation easy since it automatically detects TX/RX signals and internally corrects any misconfiguration.

Features

  • Choice of 6 or 12 RJ-45 to fiber connections; or 12 Telco 50-Pin to fiber connections.
  • AutoCross Technology -- Standard 19" 1U rack unit fits easily with existing networking equipment.
  • Internal universal auto-switching power supply for 100-240VAC 50/60hz.
  • LANart Inside
  • Link Alert

Applications

Provide Multiport Support for Shared Ethernet Network Environments: Provides the same connectivity as our stand-alone unit in a dense, more cost-effective option. Connect 6 or 12 full or half-duplex Ethernet twisted pair segments to the same number of fiber ports with a wide variety of fiber optic connector options. Ideal for high-density applications where redundant power and network management are not needed.
