Every system component, inclusive of cable, connectors, routers, fiber and coaxial active and passive equipment inclusive of outlet types can now be specified in the equipment specifications for inclusion in the RFP or IFB document. It is realized that manufacturers model numbers have to be provided in cases of a sole manufacturer. However, in most cases it is possible to identify multiple sources as an incentive for competitive bidding.
